Epic Games recently made its Unreal Development Kit open to the public and the studio has been working with over 100 academic campuses to get its UDK integrated into school curriculum. UDK has been downloaded more than 50,000 times. Not to be outdone by Epic, Crytek today announced that it's offering its CryENGINE 3 development solution to educational institutions free of charge.
