Posted May 16, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Frima Studio, an independent developer based in Quebec City, Canada, has announced today that it will be partnering with comic writer Marv Wolfman to create a new intellectual property.  Development of this new IP will be funded by the Canadian New Media Fund, with an action-adventure title for consoles in the works.

"We want to partner with the top IP creators in the world,” said Frima CEO Steve Couture, “and Marv Wolfman is definitely high among them with his outstanding track record of creating high-profile, popular characters and stories. Marv brings with him an incredible amount of imagination, inspiration, and experience. With this collaboration, we're looking forward to delivering a new, immersive experience to the video game genre.”

Wolfman is a veteran comic writer, having created numerous characters for Marvel and DC Comics, including Blade, Bullseye, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg.  He is also known for his work on DC’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” miniseries.  Wolfman recently worked with Sony Online Entertainment on DC Universe Online, ensuring that the game's characters remained true to their comic counterparts.

M.H. Williams has been writing in some form or another for ten years and has been a hardcore gamer since the NES first graced American shores.  You can catch him on Twitter as @AutomaticZen, Google+ as himself, or on his personal Facebook page.
