Christian Game Developers Left Behind Games and Digital Praise Merge

Posted February 24, 2010 by David Radd

Left Behind Games and Digital Praise today announced that they will merge into a single entity. This new public company will look to expand the Christian video game market.

"Digital Praise has the four key ingredients that will take our company to the next level," said Left Behind Games CEO Troy Lyndon. "Those keys are: (1) strong brands and products, (2) multi-channeled distribution, (3) a solid management team and (4) a history of generating millions of dollars in the emerging Christian video game market, a feat no company has matched."

Digital Praise has developed several Christian-themed titles like Light Rangers, Hermie & Friends and aMazing Bible, but is probably best known for their Christian music games like Dance Praise and Guitar Praise. Left Behind Games has developed one title: the unsuccessful RTS title Left Behind: Eternal Forces based upon the Left Behind book series.

"This merger gives us access to capital that we anticipate will enable us to produce far more new innovative games than we could hope to develop as a privately held company," said Tom Bean, President and CEO of Digital Praise.

"We believe every child and gamers of all ages should have the opportunity to play Christian games,” noted Lyndon. “We are grateful to our investors who believe in our mission and purpose; and who have made this merger possible."

I don't know what funding they get but I don't think they'll be on any Consoles. Though with all the awesome looking games recently (and past) that are seemingly made for a Proud Non-Believer audience combined with my own mixed feelings I look forward to some Christians Developers possibly making some awesome games for me.
