Catherine Is Atlus' Biggest Launch Title

Posted August 3, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Just a single week after release Atlus’ Catherine has becomes the publisher’s biggest launch title ever.  Tim Pivnicny, VP of Sales and Marketing, told IGN that the title has shipped the most units in the company’s history.

"Catherine has exceeded our highest expectations," said Pivnicny. "It released last week to tremendous critical acclaim and fan response, bolstered by the release of a demo a couple weeks prior, and continues to generate discussion among fans for its mature themes, engrossing subject matter, and frantic, challenging gameplay.”

"It is fitting, then, that Catherine can boast the largest launch in the 20-year history of Atlus, and continues to see strong sales at retail."

No concrete sales numbers were given.  It’s good that Atlus can keep chugging along in the background bringing interesting titles to America.  It’d be nice if Nintendo would let Last Story for Wii slide their way.
