Activision and Treyarch today announced that Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 has been downloaded one million times in its first weekend of availability (August 6-9). The map packs for Call of Duty: World at War are available for $9.99 on PSN and Xbox Live.
“The support and enthusiasm from the Call of Duty: World at War online community is tremendous,” said Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch. “The team is appreciative that so many players from around the world have continued to enjoy the game and all of the downloadable content that we have produced.”
The combined sales of Call of Duty: World at War's three map packs has reached over 6.5 million worldwide, which EEDAR recently estimated to IndustryGamers is revenue equivalent to another million units of the game sold at retail. The series' phenomenal success is expected to continue with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a game some think could be among the best selling of all time.
