While some regarded Call of Duty: World at War as a let down compared to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you wouldn't know it by looking at the game's success. Activision and Treyarch today announced that the first two map packs for Call of Duty: World at War have sold four million copies on both Xbox Live and the PSN and the game itself has exceeded 11 million units in sales worldwide.
On top of this, Activision today announced Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3, featuring three multiplayer maps in “Battery,” “Revolution,” and “Breach.” The new map pack (co-developed with partner Certain Affinity) will also feature one new zombie map in “Der Riese” (The Giant).
