Call of Duty: MW3 Could Sell 6 Million Units On Day One, says Analyst

Posted November 7, 2011 by James Brightman

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is all set for a November 8th midnight launch, and analysts are expecting hugely impressive results. Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops set the market on fire with 5 milion copies sold in the first 24 hours. Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia sees Modern Warfare 3 topping that easily.

"We expect MW3 to grow 10% versus last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which has sold through more than 25 million units life-to date. We expect 5.5M-6.0M unit sales of MW3 on day 1 and nearly 18M units in the December quarter," he said.

Bhatia's comments seem to square to with Wedbush Securities' Michael Pachter, who also predicted a 10% bump. Pachter told us last week that he does indeed believe Modern Warfare 3 will set another entertainment sales record for Activision.
