The developer behind a good chunk of Call of Duty titles has made it clear that next-generation technology is in their sights, and they are hiring to make ready. A new job listing from Infinity Ward has made it clear that the studio is preparing for the next-generation alongside their partner studio in Treyarch.
The listing is specifically for a senior animator, one with “an interest in working with next-generation technologies.”
Of course, the project and specifics for the job will remain safely guarded, but with Infinity Ward’s long track record this all but confirms that the studio is preparing for a Call of Duty title for the next-generation. What makes it interesting is that this could even represent a push into the Wii U, as the developer has stated they will look into supporting the console.
Again, Call of Duty does enjoy yearly releases, and Treyarch or Raven Software are next to bat on taking the flag for the next game. By all accounts, Infinity Ward might be able to show off Call of Duty on the next-generation, even if Microsoft and Sony insist that the industry is years away from it.
