The latest addition to the subscription-based Call of Duty Elite service has finally launched for the iPhone. The new iPhone app will allow for a broad range of services to players of both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3.
“We’ve always viewed mobile as a big part of the mission of Call of Duty Elite,” said Chacko Sonny of Beachhead Studios who has been in charge of Elite. “You can have your Call of Duty Experience be with you no matter where you are.”
The iPhone app will offer a wide range of options to those enjoying the service. Gamers can change classes on the fly, compare games with friends and check out the newest challenges and clan tracking news on the full on Elite service.
While the app is only offered on iOS devices at this time, Call of Duty Elite for Android is scheduled to debut next week. Those on the iPad will also look forward to an Elite app offered specifically for the tablet.
Several issues did plague the launch of Elite, but Beachhead is confident that those problems are well in the past. “The issues associated with the heavy load are behind us. The service is operational and lots of people are using it every day,” Activision said.
