Call of Duty: Black Ops Is Top Selling of 2010 in U.K.

According to the U.K. Interactive Entertainment Association and Chart-Track, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops is the best-selling title of 2010 in the United Kingdom, outselling every other contender despite a release in November. The game marked the largest game launch ever in the U.K., making £113.8 million in a single week.

FIFA 11 by Electronic Arts was the number two title on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 charts, number one on the PSP, and the number two title overall. Ubisoft’s Just Dance series cleaned up as well, with Just Dance and Just Dance 2 taking third and sixth place on the overall chart, and first and third on the Wii-only chart. Assassin’s Creed was another franchise win for Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood took number five on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 charts, just behind Red Dead Redemption, number seven on the overall chart, and spinoff title Bloodlines took fourth on the PSP chart. Nintendo saw wins with Wii Fit Plus (number five on the overall chart), Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Professor Layton and The Lost Future, Pokemon SoulSilver, and a shocking five years after its original release… Mario Kart DS.
