Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Leaked by Amazon in France – Report

Posted February 17, 2012 by Ben Strauss

Activision’s Call of Duty yearly release schedule means that hints about the next game should be starting to roll in at around this time.   It would appear that the first big rumor has it that the game will be Black Ops 2, as stated by Amazon.

Of course, Activision has jumped on the news being reported by the press, demanding that the original story be pulled from French site GameBlog.  When the website refused to pull the story, the publisher allegedly removed their ad campaign for the site, blacklisted the group and disinvited them from a preview event for the upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron event.

Activision has remained completely quiet on the event, and Amazon has removed the listing.  IndustryGamers has reached out to Activision for comment, but has not heard anything yet.

If anything, a Black Ops sequel more than makes sense, thanks to how well the game continues to perform even today.  Surpassing $1 billion in sales in less than a month, and continuing to hold a high spot on the XBL leaderboards, the game is certainly primed to continue along the seedy cold-war era setting.
