Bungie 'Tiger' Game and Logo Confirmed

Posted August 4, 2011 by Ben Strauss

Bungie is in the midst of their 20th anniversary, and that has resulted in an hour long ‘dev diary’ for fans.  In the video, the studio, the fans and the press discuss the impact that Bungie has had on the gaming industry.  Starting from a small studio in Chicago and moving to be recognized as one of the top independent studios in the world, Bungie might be done with Halo, but are now working on a new IP with Activision, apparently code-named 'Tiger.'

With a 10-year exclusivity deal for Activision in place, Bungie is working to create an entirely new experience, utilizing a brand-new engine; it's also presumed to be an MMO. 'Tiger' is the hope and dream for a studio that has enjoyed a level of success that few studios have been able to attain.

The video did offer a couple of glimpses at the new engine perhaps, showcasing a valley.  While it was very little to behold, the discussion brought up by various members of the staff indicated that Bungie has retained their humble identity.

"You feel responsible for not just telling an isolated story, but for building a universe that at some point is going to become more the fans than it is ours," said a Bungie staffer. "It's going to take a life of its own."

“How can anything be bigger than Halo?” asked another staffer from Bungie.  “We’ll find out.”

Happy 20th, Bungie.
