Bungie Franchise Will Definitely Not Be Released This Year

Posted February 10, 2011 by Ben Strauss

While the earnings call from ATVI did have news on Bungie and their new 10-year franchise, it was revealed that the studio would not release their new title this year, Activision Publishing boss Eric Hirshberg confirmed.

Activision stated that they remained committed to the developer and that they look forward to setting the stage right now on bringing the title to fans everywhere.

Bungie has proven with its incredible work on the Halo franchise (which will continue on at Microsoft and 343) that they're a studio highly capable of creating immersive worlds and compelling gameplay. Fans are eagerly anticipating the reveal of their new IP, which some analysts think could sell 20 million units or more once it's finally launched.
