Bungie and Microsoft have a close relationship borne from a decade of working together on the Halo franchise for the Xbox platform. Despite the ties between Bungie and Microsoft, the developer's independent status means they're free to develop games for the PS3... and it's a possibility they aren't writing off at the moment.
"I mean, I think our whole future's kind of undefined right now and it's definitely not something we're going to be comfortable getting into too much detail about,” said Bungie community manager Brian Jarrard to CVG. "We've had another team internally [other than those making Reach] for quite a while now - they've been working on the genesis of what will become our next big thing. It's a little premature to get into specifics, but you know I think we have a really good mix of old blood and new blood in the studio."
Jarrard recently left the possibility open for a return to the Halo franchise sometime down the road.

Well if they want to make as much money as possible on their independent projects they definitely need to consider supporting the PS3 and the Wii.

LOL i don't think we will see halo coming to PS3 but i do see a bungie making games for Ps3 and 360 . Microsoft will loose alot of 360 owner if Halo is on both systems lol Halo and gears are the only games that keep hardcore 360 from jumping ship and i just don't think that going to keep them from doing it anyway down the road . Microsoft you need to put your money on games and not on to have a DLC first before PS3 that getting old fast.

Halo can't go to PS3. It's Microsoft's and operated by their 343 Industries group. Bungie, as an independent now, however, can bring their new game properties to PS3 if they wish.
