Bungie Alumni Launch Moonshot Games

Posted October 7, 2009 by James Brightman

A trio of Bungie alumni today announced the opening of Moonshot Games, a new studio based in Seattle (with support in Boston), which will focus on creating "high quality" downloadable games. Specific platforms were not mentioned, but we'd assume that certain PC portals and console services like Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network will be targeted.

"The Moonshot team firmly believes that the stars need not be limited to multimillion-dollar projects supported by armies of ground crew. There is a place in history for that small, nimble craft, built smartly on a modest budget, and piloted by expert hands," the company stated.

Managing Director Michel Bastien will oversee Moonshot. He was the  production lead on Halo 2 and Halo 3.  Serving as Director of Technology is Damián Isla, who will head up Moonshot's research and fabrication labs in Boston. While at Bungie he served as AI and gameplay engineering lead, and he's cited as " a foremost expert in the field of Artificial Intelligence for Games." Rounding out the trio is Creative Director Rob Stokes, who contributed "hundreds of hours" as a writer, mission designer, and design lead on the Halo franchise.

Moonshot did not reveal any detail about their first project(s) yet.
