Epic Games confirmed today that the title Bulletstorm will be published by Electronic Arts. Painkiller maker People Can Fly is working on the game, which is described as a FPS with 'kill with skill' gameplay, where players are rewarded for the havoc they create.
"Bulletstorm is the kind of game we love to make because it's pure, unadulterated entertainment," said Epic Games President Dr. Michael Capps. "People Can Fly has created a wildly fun first-person shooter that looks gorgeous running on the latest Unreal Engine 3 technology, and the skillshot system is a welcome addition to the genre. We can't wait to see how everyone reacts to seeing Bulletstorm."
Bulletstorm is a story about Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato, who are betrayed by the commander of their mercenary group Dead Echo and sent to a distant planet. There, the two must fight through canabilistic gangs and mutants to get off the planet and get their revenge.
"We're very excited to work with Epic Games and People Can Fly on this new project,” said Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Partners, David DeMartini. “The first time we laid eyes on Bulletstorm, we instantly knew this is going to be the next big hit from these two great studios delivering yet again an entirely new experience for shooter fans.”
Bulletstorm will release for PS3, PC and Xbox 360 in 2011. It's expected that when Epic's Cliff Bleszinski appears on Jimmy Fallon tonight that he'll show off Gears of War 3 and Bulletstorm.

Purchasing MS points straight from Xbox Live is super convenient. I hope they find a way to make this work without having to log onto Xbox.com
