Despite denials by Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford over potential sequels for Borderlands, the news has been confirmed by 2K Games; Borderlands 2 is set for release in 2012 for the Xbox, PC and PS3. While Pitchford did not deny that a sequel was possible, he told Eurogamer that if it had not been announced at that point, then it simply “[didn’t] exist.”
2K Games, however, has made it official with the announcement as of today. Game Informer will be highlighting the title next month, in which Borderlands 2 will be gracing the cover. "Eager gamers can learn more about Borderlands 2 right now by picking up the latest issue of Game Informer Magazine, which has the worldwide exclusive cover story on the title," said Take-Two in their announcement.
