Bobby Kotick Cashes in $17 Million More in Stock

Posted November 18, 2009 by David Radd

Recently, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick sold stock options to the tune of $20 million but he hasn’t stopped there. The executive has sold another 1.68 million shares in his company, taking advantage of the average Activision Blizzard stock price of $11.66 a share.

The stock options were originally received by Kotick in 2000 for the price of little over $1 a share. His sale on November 13, 2009 netted him a profit of $17.6 million.

Now is probably a keen time to sell stock in Activision Blizzard, with expectations in the company soaring after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 set a new entertainment launch record.

Update:  Prior to this latest stock sale, Kotick owned 3,109,729 shares of Activision Blizzard, meaning his total is now down to about 1.43 million shares.

It would be good to know how many Total Shares Kotick owns in Activision. Is he selling a tiny overall percent of his shares? Or selling a ton of them.

So the answer is, he's selling a ton of his shares, but he still has another ton in reserve. :)

I am willing to bet his net worth is close to 100 million. Bobby, dig into the wallet and treat your staff to the In and Out truck for all their hard work! :-)
