Big Fish Games announced today that it is reaching out to consumers with the launch of five additional language portals: Brazilian, Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Italian, and Swedish. Each portal has fully-localized games and native-language customer service.
In addition, the company is now accepting payment for games in 16 different currencies: the Argentine peso, Australian dollar, Brazilian real, British pound, Canadian dollar, Danish krone, euro, Japanese yen, Mexican peso, New Zealand dollar, Norwegian kroner, South African rand, Singapore dollar, Swedish krona, Swiss franc and U.S. Dollar.
For eight years, Big Fish Games has shown consistent subscriber, revenue and profit growth. Revenues in 2009 exceeded $100 million, and the company expects double-digit growth in 2010.
“Today we have customers in more than 200 countries and greater than 50 percent of our sales come from international markets,” said Jeremy Lewis, president and chief executive officer of Big Fish Games. “We will continue to invest towards expanding our brand reach to meet the huge demand for premium casual game entertainment in developed and emerging markets.”
Customers can enjoy classic Big Fish titles in their own language and developers can expect to see increased revenue from the expanded audience. More than 300 million people worldwide speak one of the five new languages. Big Fish also has a retail presence in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxemburg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, the U.K. and the U.S.
