Bethsoft Attempts to Redact Comments on Purported Elder Scrolls MMO

Posted January 20, 2010 by David Radd

While Bethsoft parent company ZeniMax hired Matt Firor to head up its online division in 2007, what exactly the former Dark Ages of Camelot producer has been up to has remained a mystery. However, attempts by Bethsoft to redact some comments made during testimony related to their lawsuit with Interplay has called greater attention to the project.

The transcript (found by Duck and Cover) reveals that "tens and tens of millions of dollars" have been spent on a Bethsoft MMO with "close to a hundred people" working on a project described as being like World of Warcraft. Bethsoft planned on a four-year development cycle for the title, putting its potential release date sometime in 2011.

On top of this, VG247 is reporting that the project is indeed an Elder Scrolls MMO. The source says that game must be “very close to reveal by now.” Bethsoft has declined comment on the matter.
