Bethesda's Todd Howard to Keynote DICE Summit

Posted January 10, 2012 by Ben Strauss

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has today announced who will be presenting the opening keynote speech at the DICE Summit - none other than Bethesda’s executive producer Todd Howard.  Howard will be offering his views on the creative passion for game designers in “Why We Create, Why We Play.”

“The 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit will kick off with one of the most distinguished creative minds of our time with Todd Howard as our Opening Keynote speaker,” said Martin Rae, president, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. “Todd’s many contributions to the industry have greatly advanced our understanding of player interaction and engagement. His games take players on journeys through distant fantasy worlds and post apocalyptical universes that are driving a new generation of entertainment.”

With Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls: Skyrim taking top accolades across the industry, the game is just another in a line of titles from the developer that have swept the gaming industry.  Howard was responsible for helping to lead the development of both Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Fallout 3, both of which gained recognition as Game of the Year in their respective release years.

The DICE Summit will take place at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas February 7-9.
