Battlefield Heroes Has Over Two Million Enlisted

Posted September 25, 2009 by David Radd

Electronic Arts announced today that over two million players have registered for Battlefield Heroes. To celebrate this milestone for the Play4Free third-person shooter, EA will release a free ‘Heroes of the Fall’ update with a new map. Players can submit names for the map at www.battlefieldheroes.com.

“Along with this new map, ‘Heroes of the Fall’ includes a slew of changes including upgrades of the Gunner class and improvements to the friends system,” said Ben Cousins, General Manager of the Battlefield Heroes team. “We’ve also added a brand new ranking system for the game – players can earn cool new titles for their heroes as they play – showing everyone on the battlefield how dedicated they are.”

Just 2 months ago Battlefield Heroes had passed the 1 million users mark. IndustryGamers spoke with Ben Cousins at the time about the growing free-to-play market. Check out that interview for more.
