Bastion Sells Over 500,000 Units

Posted January 3, 2012 by M.H. Williams

Indie adventure title Bastion has sold over 500,000 copies according to developer Supergiant Games.  The game is available on Xbox Live Arcade and Steam and recently launched on Google’s Chrome Web Store.  Supergiant told Eurogamer that recent holiday sales on Xbox Live and Steam pushed the game “over the top”.

"We're happy to have this many people playing and to be in a position to make more games on our own terms," said creative director Greg Kasavin.

"When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark. It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we're doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that."

It’s good to see sales success at every level of the industry, from smaller developers to larger AAA productions. It makes everyone happy and gives gamers a great variety of titles to play.  Congratulations to Supergiant Games on the milestone.
