While the acquisition of Midway by Warner Bros. saved most of the company from disintegration, Midway's studio in Newcastle was forced to close due to a lack of interested investors. Undeterred, members of that studio have formed their own company called Atomhawk and officially launched the company website today.
The four founders of Atomhawk are led by Cumron Ashtiani, a 12-year veteran of the games industry, with experience working on The Thing, Battalion Wars and Wheelman. Ashtiani is accompanied by Pete Thompson (TD Overdrive, LA Rush and Wheelman), Corlen Kruger (Final Armada, War Devil and Wheelman) and Steven Pick (Music 3000, TT Superbikes and LA Rush).
"Our services range from strictly following the clients exact direction to produce perfectly executed 2D/3D artwork, video production, story boards, GUI design and web content through to developing artistic vision ourselves and creating art/design work, promotional assets and style guides on behalf of the client," reads Atomhawk's website. "We not only work with clients on existing ideas that they have produced as a specialist outsource provider but also helping to create new ideas when working in creative partnership with the client."
Atomhawk says it is working with a number of clients at the moment, though no companies or specific projects were named.
