Assassin's Creed Creative Director Leaves Ubisoft

Posted January 11, 2012 by Ben Strauss

The creative director behind Assassin’s Creed: Revelations has announced his departure away from the company to pursue a career in advertising.  Alexandre Amancio, who has been with Ubisoft since 2005, will be taking a position as the chief creative officer at Cossette, a Quebec City-based advertising firm.

"Video games and advertising have many common elements," said Amancio in a press release. "In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand."

Amancio, who also served as art director for Far Cry 2, was only recently promoted to creative lead of Assassin’s Creed.  His departure means that this is the second creative director to leave the franchise after Patrice Desilets moved to THQ early last year.
