The hype for Assassin’s Creed 3 has already started, despite Revelations coming out only a few months ago. Ubisoft is confident that the series has maintained a healthy growth, and that the final chapter in the current storyline will be the “biggest to date.”
Speaking to MCV, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has already acknowledged that Assassin’s Creed 3, set for release holiday 2012, will be a major step forward for the series. “Assassin’s Creed is an incredible franchise and there are a lot of expectations that it will continue to grow. We are pleased with our continued success so far: in the US, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was a Top Ten title for the entire calendar year, which shows that the demand is definitely there."
“We think that delivering regular installments and expanding the brand to other platforms will continue to satisfy the demand, while at the same time attracting new fans.”
Ubisoft has been positively received for the AC franchise, but internally things have been a bit shaky. The publisher has lost two creative directors in as many years, with the latest creative director leaving for a job in advertising.
Regardless, Guillemot remains steadfast in his belief that the game should bring out a more than positive attitude from fans of the series. “We’re confident that the next installment of Assassin’s Creed will be the biggest to date,” he said.
