As developers continue flocking to the App Store, Apple's selection of games and other software gets wider and wider. Now, thanks to a new Facebook application from Vitrue, users can browse and share apps within the popular social network.
"With more than 170,000 apps available in the App Store and with more than 3 billion downloads, bringing the incredibly popular App Store to Facebook was a perfect fit. Both the App Store and Facebook are currently two of hottest application development platforms today, so bringing the two together is a match made in heaven," Vitrue wrote on its blog [thanks ME]. "People love their apps and nowhere are they better able to express these feelings than Facebook. The custom solutions designed for the App Store Facebook page allows fans to discover and share apps more easily than ever before."
Vitrue noted that its team worked worked with Apple's iTunes group to "provide strategic guidance, creative design, solution development and account management." And because the games category has become so important on the App Store, the Facebook page from Vitrue will feature a Games tab to showcase the latest games and top charts.
Vitrue's previous iTunes Facebook page has grown to over 3.2 million fans in less than 10 months, and we'd expect the App Store page to see similar success.
