Earlier in December, Australia’s Classification Operations Board announced that it was refusing classification for Aliens vs. Predator, effectively banning the game in the country. While the game's developer, Rebellion, said at the time “we will not be releasing a sanitized or cut down version,“ the game's publisher Sega appealed the rating to the Classification Review Board.
Today it was revealed that the appeal was successful; Aliens vs. Predator will now receive a 15+ rating for Australia.
"It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal," said Sega Australia president Darren Macbeth. "We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever. This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians."
