Alan Wake on PC Already Cost Effective in Two Days

Posted February 20, 2012 by Ben Strauss

The Alan Wake port to the PC has already been able to recoup costs for marketing and development, it has been revealed. The big news is that it took just under 48 hours to achieve such a feat.

Offered to Steam on February 16, Alan Wake was never really ever meant to be a PC title. Remedy decided to change their tune, perhaps to prepare for the new XBLA offering, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare

"We are very happy with the sales and hitting number one on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing,” said Remedy EVP Aki Jarvilehto

He added that the studio was already able to cover cost of development and marketing, but did not go into specifics on how much all of that cost, on top of how much money had been made.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is due to launch on Xbox Live Arcade next week.
