Earlier this week, we reported that Activision Blizzard has been hiring for a new studio in the Bay Area. Then today it was revealed that both Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey left Electronic Arts' Visceral studio.
Now an Activision spokesperson has confirmed to IndustryGamers that the company is indeed opening a new studio and has successfully lured away Schofield and Condrey from rival EA.
"We are currently hiring employees to work at a new studio that is opening in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. Glen Schofield along with Michael Condrey will lead the studio which will be creating a new game based on one of Activision's existing franchises. We will be providing more details regarding the game at a later date," said the Activision representative.
We think this is a great "get" for Activision, as Schofield seems to have great vision for core games and did a terrific job helping EA to pursue new IP.
