Social game publisher 6waves Lolapps (6L) announced today its acquisition of Escalation Studios, a Dallas-based mobile development firm. The acquisition is part of the continued expansion by 6L into the mobile market, and adds Dallas to the list of cities that house 6L office, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, and San Francisco. Escalation Studios’ co-founder Tom Mustaine and Marc Tardiff will become Design Directors for 6L, while co-founder Shawn Green becomes Director of Engineering.
"We will double our business in 2012 and mobile will play a significant role in our growth on both the publishing and development sides of our business," said Rex Ng, CEO of 6L. "This addition to our team brings some of the mobile gaming industry's most impressive talent into our fold and sends a clear signal that we are as serious about innovation in mobile as we have been in social."

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
