With Sony having recently unveiled its PlayStation Move controller at GDC and Microsoft gearing up for the worldwide premiere of Project Natal at E3, publishers are all now carefully considering how to support one or both of these motion devices. The sports genre, of course, is an area that lends itself quite well to motion gaming. Over at the[a]listdaily 2K Sports' VP of Marketing Jason Argent was asked if his company would be incorporating motion sensing gameplay into future editions of MLB2K or other franchises. He responded, "Yes...stay tuned!" but offered no other details on if the support would be for both or which games would include motion.
Argent also talked about how Sony's MLB The Show series has essentially led to big improvements in the MLB 2K franchise, thanks to tough competition. "I'm a strong believer that competition makes you better, and nowhere does that hold more true than with our MLB 2K franchise. From both the marketing and game development standpoints we upped our game this year in every way, and we believe the fans see and appreciate that," he said. "In many ways developing this year's campaign was easier because the objective was simple: Convince people to play our game because we believe that once they do, they'll love it and see how good it really is. The mandate was to make some noise."
