#10 - Ultima III (Apple II)

One of the all time classic RPG/adventures. I was just barely in my teens when it came out. We had an Apple II at the time and I think this was the first game I ever purchased on my own. I convinced my dad to drive me to the Apple store so I could spend my hard-earned cash on a game. I didn’t even know what Ultima was at the time but the cover looked  cool. I popped the first 5 ¼” floppy into the Apple’s disc drive and was immediately hooked. It was incredibly deep, had an engrossing story and in many ways was ahead of its time. I’m sure every RPG ever made owes a lot to the Ultima series.
