In this third edition of our special monthly feature with Wedbush Morgan Securities gaming analyst Michael Pachter, we ask about the likelihood of PS3 Slim being announced this month at Gamescom, whether the Wii core audience is really worth pursuing, movie license business models, the chances of Best Buy's price matching denting GameStop's used business and the future of browser-based gaming.
As usual, Pachter holds back no punches and provides some very interesting answers. He says the Wii "core" audience only cares about Nintendo's "core" games, he doubts Best Buy's program will last, and he generally downplays the PC gaming experience as "inferior."
