GTA IV

$60 million? Ha!  That's small potatoes compared to the boatload of cash that went into Rockstar's magnum opus. Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies revealed last year that GTA IV had a budget of about $100 million. Was it worth it? Absolutely. In the first week alone, GTA IV produced sales of over $500 million and it's now sold over 13 million copies. There aren't too many companies that have the pedigree of Rockstar. Investing $100 million under normal circumstances would be suicidal, but not in the case of GTA.
